Andrew Gonzalez Rodriguez

Andrew Gonzales Rodriguez, born on August 19, 1961, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2013 at the age of 52. He is preceded in death by his father, Andres J. Rodriguez, and grandparents, Adolfo V. and Celsa M. Gonzales. He is survived by his mother, Adelaida G. Ortiz; daughter, Priscilla Nicole Rodriguez and Manuel Roque; sons, Paul Andrew Rodriguez and Vincent Anthony Rodriguez; mother of his children, Velma Alvarado brothers, Michael G. Ortiz, Guadalupe G. Ortiz and wife, April; sisters, Rosalinda Francis and husband, Jim, and Mary Alice Ortiz; granddaughter, Abigail Roque; numerous extended family and friends.

Andrew was a devoted son, brother, father and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy and then continued in his civilian career as an auto body technician. He was very proud of his service in the Navy. He loved working on cars using his talent on custom work and he was an avid fisherman. Andrew was a very gentle soul with a smile always on his face. He enjoyed all types of music from Country to Rock and Roll. He had a passion for movies, especially movies about the Navy. He especially enjoyed getting together with family and friends and would go out of his way to help others. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the Hillcrest Funeral Home Chapel. Procession will depart Hillcrest on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Mass at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors.
