Leonard Thomas Fidishin, 82, of Hazleton and a resident of Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, passed away Friday.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Kokinda) Fidishin.
Leonard served in the Navy during the Korean War and, prior to his retirement, worked for the Stella Dora Co.
He was a member of Annunciation Parish at St Gabriel's Church, YMPA, Northeast Paradise Club and the West Hazleton Council Knights of Columbus.
He was the greeter at Fritzingertown and welcomed everyone by calling them sweetheart.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Marie, and brothers, Stephen and Norman. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his daughter, Angela Glowatch and husband, David, Hazleton; his son, Leonard and wife, Kathy, Barnesville; and his sister-in-law, Joan Fidishin, Drums. Several nieces also survive.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from Fierro Funeral Home, 26 W. Second St., Hazleton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel's Church, Hazleton.
Entombment will follow in the parish mausoleum.
Friends may call Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
