Pearl L. Brown, age 85 of Guysville died Thursday morning, Dec. 12, 2013 at Arcadia Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coolville.

Born March 6, 1928 in Stewart, she was the daughter of the late William James & Freda Marie Young Phillips.

She attended Rome –Canaan High School. She retired from O’Bleness Memorial Hospital as an Licensed Practical Nurse. She had also worked as a nurse at Sheltering Arms Hospital, Athens Mental Health Center, Arcadia and Hickory Creek Nursing Homes. She had attended the Guysville and Stewart Methodist Churches. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge. She enjoyed fishing with her husband. She also enjoyed sewing for others and her pet dog Buffy.

Pearl is survived by two daughters- Carol Brown of Guysville and Rita (Roger) Lonas of Athens; a son, Delmar (Shirley) Brown of Guysville; eight grandchildren- Melissa Brown, Terry (Eileen) Brown, Jason Brown, Bryan Orcutt, Lony (Kayla) Klinglesmith, Michael (Kathy) Klinglesmith, Kyle (Shawni) Lonas and Bryce (Katie) Lonas; twelve great grandchildren- Cory & Whitney Barnhart, Alexis, Mason & Hunter Brown, Justin, Allison, Kayla & Jina Klinglesmith, Rece, Peri & Felix Lonas; two step great grandchildren, Michaela & Mackenzie Hall; a great-great grandchild, Brantlee Snedden.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde D. Brown, who died Nov. 6, 2013; a sister, Bernice Rassmussen; and two brothers, Gerald & Gary Phillips.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday 1:00pm at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Okey Ahart officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Arcadia Valley Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation c/o Activities Fund, 25675 Main St., Coolville, Ohio 45723.
