Thelma M. Brannon of Samson passed away at Wiregrass Medical Center on Monday, December 2, 2013. She was 65. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Leonia, Fla. with Rev. Donel Davidson officiating and Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.
Mrs. Brannon was born in Walton County, Fla. on September 18, 1948 to the late Ruby Rushing and Mae Bell Smith Rushing. Mrs. Brannon loved to go fishing and loved spending time with her family. She dearly loved her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, David LaWayne Brannon; and sister, Dorothy Rushing.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, George David Brannon; son, David Brannon; daughter, Angie Wood and husband, Michael; two grandchildren, Sarah Brannon and Erica Wood, all of Samson, Alabama; two sisters, Patricia Smith and husband, James of Westville, Fla. and Doris Davidson of Ponce de Leon, Fla.; brother, Willard Rushing and wife, Pat of Lexington, Miss.; two special nieces, Teresa Driggers and Dorothy McKee; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
