Thelma Jean Eldridge, age 70 of Maynardville, Tennessee and formerly of Kentucky, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 2, 2013, at her residence. She was born February 10, 1943 to the late Lige and Katie Bowling Smith in Perry County, KY. Thelma spent her life as a homemaker and was a member of the Rockvine Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Tom Smith, Astor Bowling, Carlos Smith, David Smith and Lloyd Smith; and sister, Beatrice Sparkman.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Bobby Eldridge; children, Anna Mosley of Ohio, Anita Jewell (Gregory) of Tennessee, Michael Eldridge (Ruth Ann) of Cornettsville, KY, and Patricia Widner (Robert) of Tennessee; brothers, Noah Smith and William Pearl Smith; sister, Christine Pratt; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Rockvine Baptist Church in Partridge, KY on Wednesday, December 04, 2013, and Thursday, December 05, 2013, beginning at 6 pm and remaining at the church until funeral services on Friday, December 06, 2013, at 12 pm with Roger Jones and Reverend Eddie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Halcomb Smith Cemetery in Little Leatherwood, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
