Born March 1, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA, the son of the late J. Howard and Helen (Baber) Muncie, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at age 88. Bob graduated from East Lansing High School in 1943 and immediately joined the U.S. Army-Air Corp. Bob served as a Pilot and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in 1946. Upon returning, he enrolled at Michigan State University on the G.I. Bill, earning his B.A. in Business Administration in 1950. He married Glennis Grimes on March 23, 1948 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. Bob’s career was spent with Auto-Owners Insurance Company for 39 years. He served as Branch Claims Manager in South Bend, IN and Grand Rapids, and retired in 1990 from their Lansing Office-Personal Injury Protection Department. He and Glennis were founding members of St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church in South Bend, IN and long-time active members of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Lansing. They enjoyed their family cottage on Elk Lake, MI and were long time season ticket holders for MSU Football and Basketball. He is preceded in death by a daughter in law, Sandy Muncie and 3 sisters: Louise Roehm, Margaret Evatt and Helen Fereday. Surviving is his wife Glennis, 5 children: G. Thomas (Linda), Gerald R. (Patricia), Ronald J., Leanne (Thomas) Schneider and Judy (Stewart) Lauterbach, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a brother James V. (Marilyn) Muncie and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11:00AM at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 1519 Elmwood Drive, Lansing with Rev. Fr. David Pike officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Lansing VFW #701. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8PM at St. David’s Episcopal Church and Thursday beginning at 10:00AM. Memorials can be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church in memory of Bob.
