Keith Ross Wright

Keith R. Wright of Lompoc died November 29, 2013, at the age of 86.

Keith was born March 26, 1927, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, to Ewing and Blanch Wright. A resident of Lompoc since 1968, he was the owner of Keith’s Shoelace shoe store on North H Street for many years. He was a past exalted ruler of the Lompoc Elks Lodge.

Keith loved to play golf at the Village Country Club and winning the Mackie in 1986 with his partner Virvel Chase. He also loved traveling with his wife in their fifth wheel, especially to Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Mary Jo Wright, his son Stanley Wright of Valencia, California, his daughter Lisa Marie Wright of Lompoc, his stepsons Richard (Renee) George, Patrick (Connie) George and Kevin (Joanie) George, his brothers Dean Wright of Iowa and Rolland (Cheryl) Wright of Arizona and his grandchildren Dawn, Renee, Kellie, Derick and Kayla, He was preceded in death by his sons Keith Rick Wright and Rex Wayne Wright, his brothers Everett, Lynn, Lloyd, Merle, Dell and Olen Wright and his sisters Iola Ford and Mildred Whetstone.

There will be a celebration of Keith’s life on Thursday, December 12, from 5 to 7 pm in the Ellery Room of the Village Country Club.

His family wants to extend many thanks to Tony Durham for the GPS Project Lifesaver and his monthly visits; Dr. Cory Gusland for the loving care he gave to Keith; Denise and her outstanding staff at the Lompoc Skilled and Rehab Center on North Street, and Dr. Rollin Bailey who took care of Keith while he was there.
