Beulah Gerlean West Byrd age 89 past into her eternal home on Wednesday November 27, 2013 at the Huntsville Manor Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born in Helenwood, Tennessee on July 5, 1924 to the late Reason and Ethel Cecil West.
She joined the First Baptist Church of Oneida on October 1, 1937 where she remained a member until her death.
Beulah married the late Argil E. Byrd on September 15, 1949 working together in numerous businesses, community club activities and their church until his death on August 15, 1996. She worked several years and retired from the Tennessee Railroad. She was an active member of the Sapphire Chapter #259 Order of Eastern Star, the auxiliary of American Legion, disabled American Veterans, V.F.W. until her declining health caused her to retire.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by aunts and uncles.
She is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and her care givers for the past seven years from Huntsville Manor and other relatives and friends.
Psalms 116:15 gives us the assurance that “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, November 30, 2013 in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home from 12 noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Bro. Dale Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry Smith, Linda Lay and Imogene Laxton. Interment will follow in the Carson Memorial Park.
