Charles M. Christiano, Jr., age 88, of Waterbury entered eternal life on Saturday, November 23, 2013, where he joined his wife of 58 years, Leona G. (Luth) Christiano.
Born in Waterbury on December 15, 1924 to the late Charles M. and Catherine (Lango) Christiano, Sr., Charles served as a sergeant in the US Air Force during World War II. Following the war, Charles established Christiano Trucking, worked as Vice President at Connecticut Paper for 30 years, and operated a used car sales and rental business. Charles lived a full life. He enjoyed reminiscing about their countless vacations to Las Vegas, his hunting excursions with his brothers, his military service, and his boating trips with his family.
Charles will be missed by his five children David Christiano, Carole Shehu, husband Karl of Waterbury, Karen Devino, husband David of Middlebury,Gail Balzano husband Francis and Lisa Gillette, husband Richard of Woodbury, his eight grandchildren, Karl, Eric, and Lisa Shehu, Christopher and David Devino, wife Stephanie, David Christiano Jr, and Melissa and Richard Gillette; his brother, James Christiano; his sisters, Connie LaPlante and Madeline Barkauskas; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Helen Christiano.
Arrangements: Funeral Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home to St. Patrick Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial of cremains will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
