Darlene M. Adams

Darlene M. (Feuling) Adams, 78, of 1035 W. Spruce St., Chippewa Falls passed away on November 25, 2013 in Chippewa Falls with her children at her side.

Our mom was born January 30, 1935 in Arcadia, the daughter of Donald and Richardine (Baecker) Feuling.

As a child mom spent a lot of time in the Waumadee Valley with her Baecker aunts and uncles learning about, and taking pride in, her Irish heritage. In 1954 she met John Adams and became a farmer’s wife. With the help of Uncle Joe they went on to start Adams Valley View Farm. Mom and Dad had eight sons and one daughter and these children would become the center of her world for the rest of her life. Mom was a member of St. Charles Church.

Mom is survived by sons, John Jr. (Lynette), Bob (Sue), Daniel (Karla), David (Rhonda), Jerome, Fran (Lisa), Joe (Sandy) and Chris (Kate); one daughter, Kathleen. Mom has 21 grandchildren, John III, Steven, Cory, Curt, DJ, Bridget, Brian, Melissa, Mathew, Jessica, Brooke, Michael, Wesley, Ashley, Lindsey, Alissa, Chantel, Joseph, Samantha, McKenzie and Lexi; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Mom’s brothers and sisters were extremely important in her life and they had constant contact with her until the time of her death. She is survived by her brother, Wayne (Toots) Feuling, sisters, Beverly Wild, Debra (Ken) Klimek and sister-in-law, Rosemary Caron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Adams, Sr., brother, Ronald Feuling; sisters, Yvonne Ginther and Wynell Feuling; brothers-in-law, Bernard Wild, Sr. and Vernon Caron; her parents; and two grandchildren, Ryan Joseph and Laura Marie.

Mom was an avid Packer fan, loved reading a good novel and always game for a good political debate. She was always ready for a casino trip with her brother and sisters. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 30, at St. Charles Church in Chippewa Falls. The Very Rev. Ed Shuttleworth will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 29 and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home in Chippewa Falls. There will be a Christian Vigil Service at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Chippewa Manor for the kind care extended to mom and the courtesy extended to the family.
