Margaret R. Hardrict

Margaret R. Hardrict, 77, of South Bend, Indiana departed this life on Monday, November 25, 2013. She was born on February 7, 1936 in Cleveland, Mississippi to the union of Niccurlier Hardrict and Susieann (Henry) Hardrict.

She worked for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and retired from there after 35 years. She had a monthly routine of meeting her co-workers at Country Buffet. In her spare time you would find her in her favorite chair watching sports (she was an avid Chicago Bears fan); Jeopardy and Wheel-of-Fortune.

Mother Hardrict received Christ at an early age in her life. She was a founding member of New Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church where she served under the leadership of Rev. James Hardrict for more than 25 years. She later moved her membership to Temple of God Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. William D. Jones and served as Church Mother; President of the Usher Board; and organizer of the Annual Women in Red program. She loved the Lord and her church.

She leaves to cherish her memories five sons: N.C. (Isabel) Hardrict, Lee (Brenda) Montgomery, Paul Hardrict, Michael Hardrict, all of South Bend, Indiana, and Samuel Hardrict of Bettendorf, Iowa; one daughter, Janice Hardrict; one sister, Ola Mae Coleman, both of South Bend; 12 grandchildren: Nick (Bibi) Hardrict, Angela Hardrict, Remus Webb, Evelyn Ludia, Brittany Montgomery, Jakayla Hardrict, Bianca Howard, Satia Howard, Katrina (James) Green, Nathan (Nyteria) Green, Michael Hardrict Jr. and Samuel Hardrict; 24 great-grandchildren; one goddaughter, Jasmine Lancaster; two special people: a niece, Ruth Lee and a cousin, Earnestine Henry; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who love her and miss her dearly.

Margaret was preceded in death by both parents, Niccurlier Hardrict and Susieann Hardrict; one brother, James Hardrict; two sisters: Albertha McBride and Earlene Kirkland; and a daughter-in-law, Schree Hardrict.

Funeral services for Margaret R. Hardrict will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 in New Horizons Outreach Ministry, 56165 Mayflower Road, South Bend. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and service at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
