Jack Richard Hosler, 93, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at The Hearth at Sycamore Village, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Mr. Hosler was born November 3, 1920 in Huntington, IN to Kenneth and Hilda Fahrnow Hosler. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Hosler married Rebecca Josephine Kitt on February 24, 1946. Jack was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Jo on July 21, 1998.
Mr. Hosler graduated from Huntington High School in 1938. Jack worked in accounting at Caswell Runyon; he also worked at Deluxe Coils. He served as an enlisted pilot in the U.S. Marine Corp in World War II and the Korean War. He was the Treasurer/CFO for Wabash Magnetics and also served on the Board of Directors until his retirement in 1981. Jack was the director of First National Bank of Wabash and a member of the Rotary Club. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wabash and also the Elks, the Wabash Country Club, Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, and Harbor Ridge Yacht and Country Club in Palm City, Florida. Jack loved spending time with his “buddies” on the golf course and with his family. He also spent many hours attending his grandchildren’s athletic events.
Survivors include a daughter: Christine (Roderick) Wilson, Fort Wayne, IN; and a granddaughter, Rebecca (Brandon) Filson, Smyrna, GA. Mr. Hosler was also preceded in death by his step-father, Griffith Bridge; one brother, Fred Hosler, one step-brother, Peter Bridge, and one grandson, Gregory Hosler Wilson.
A Celebration of Life luncheon honoring Jack and his life will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Sycamore Hills Golf Club, 11836 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN.
