Ray Baca, 81, of Amarillo died Friday, November 22, 2013 in Amarillo.
Rosary services will be at 6:30 PM Monday at Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Roberto Cabrera, celebrant officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery. Military Honors will be by the DAV Chapter #26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St.
Ray was born May 4, 1932 in Pintada, New Mexico. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, Ray made his home in Amarillo. Ray worked for the Unites States Postal Service as a mechanic and retired after more than 20 years of service.
Ray was a very giving man. He was loved by his neighbors and enjoyed keeping an immaculate yard. He was a hard worker and instilled those values to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.
Ray married Angie Aragon on June 12, 1965 in Santa Rosa, NM. He was preceded in death by his son Matthew Baca, a sister, Mary Pennington and his parents.
He is survived by his wife Angie; 2 daughters, Connie Ramos and her husband Manuel of Poteet and April Baca of Amarillo; 4 brothers, Floyd Baca of Amarillo, Bennie Baca, Louie Baca and Junior Baca all of Santa Rosa; 1 sister, TV Baca of Albuquerque, NM; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
