FRANCISCO D. RAMIREZ August 21, 1918 – October 12, 2013 Francisco D. Ramirez, age 95, passed away to be with our Lord on October 12, 2013, surrounded and loved dearly by his family. He was born on August 21, 1918 to Juan Ramirez and Maria De la Torre. Francisco was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Guadalupe Ramirez, son Juan Ramon Ramirez, and siblings Juan Ramirez, Alfonso Ramirez, Maria Jesus Ramirez, Josephina Rendon, Salvador Ramirez, Maria Champion, and Manuela Oros. He is survived by his brother Ramiro D. Ramirez and his sons and daughters, Ruben (Judee) Ramirez, Manuel (Chris) Ramirez, Frank Ramirez, Jr., Ignacio Ramirez, Maggie Ramirez, Bertha (Bill) England, Alice Berogan, and Minnie Ramirez. He is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Francisco attended Douglas Public Schools then later served in the Army Air Force during World War II. After his military service, he worked for Phelps Dodge and later as a grounds keeper for the Douglas Golf course for nineteen years. After his retirement he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Brown Page Mortuary Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. also at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Huachuca Honor Guard, The American Legion & VFW. Pallbearers who will serve are Tony Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez, Manuel Ramirez, Marco Olivarria, Ramiro Ramirez, Mychael Ramirez, Frank Cornejo and Ruben Leyva, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Ramirez, Bernardo Garcia, Rene Olivarria, Francisco Romero, Pete Champion, Jr., Gilbert Rojas, and Ignacio Ramirez.
