Theadora L. ‘Dorie’ Kruzan, age 92, of Highbridge, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the Ashland Health & Rehabilitation Center in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Dorie was born on June 28, 1921, in Mellen, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar and Martha (Gore) Poppe. She and Mark A. Kruzan were united in marriage, in Ashland, on March 9, 1940. She was a homemaker who enjoyed: knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family, whom she loved very much.
Survivors include: her children: Jerry (Jan), of Highbridge; Dennis (Judy), of Simpsonville, South Carolina; Larry (Pat), of Highbridge; and Candy (John) Landry, of Highbridge; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great- great grandchild; four step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Mark, on November 1, 2000; her parents; five brothers: Walter, Ervin, Arthur, Richard and Edward Poppe; and her sisters: Helen Frasier and Hazel Johnston.
A visitation, for family and friends will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Mellen, beginning at 9:30 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2013, and continuing until the hour of service.
A funeral service, for Dorie, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2013, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Mellen. Reverend Shawn W. Andersen will officiate. Her casket bearers will include: Scott Kruzan, Philip Kruzan, Brent Landry, Holli Grage, Alison Thewis, and Dennis Kruzan.
Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Highbridge.
