Eddie Barton, 66 of Paris, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, November 17, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Barton was born on July 28, 1947 in Paris, Missouri, the son of Riley and Phyllis Boyd Barton. He married Christy Heitmeyer on June 1, 1974 and she survives at home. Other survivors include his parents; two sons, Eddie (Julie) Barton and Lance (Toni) Barton, both of Paris; three brothers, Dennis Barton of Fayette, John Barton of Moberly and Steve Barton of St. Louis; two sisters, Connie Wilson of St. Louis and Joy Shelton of Centralia; three grandchildren, Riley, Reese and Brody Barton and several nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Paris High School in 1965 and served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by A B Chance, of Centralia, after returning from the service. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post #221 of Paris. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Paris.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Agnew Funeral Home with Reverend John Grimmett and Reverend Wesley Hammond officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
