Charles Hensley Green, 87, passed away on Monday, November 11th, 2013 at his residence in Franklin. He was born on October 28, 1926 in Johnson County to Willard and Ruth (Hensley) Green. He married Reba Ann (Vandivier) Green on June 16, 1949. He is survived by daughters, Cheryl (Bruce) Thompson of Franklin and Cynthia Thompson of Franklin; two granddaughters, Morgan and Chelsey (Fiancé, Jack Albertson) and one great-granddaughter, Riley. He was preceded in passing by his parents, wife, Reba and daughter, Constance “Connie” Burton. Charlie was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended Franklin College. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Germany. Charlie was employed as a teller at Union Bank and Trust Company in Franklin and later took over the insurance department at the bank. In 1979, he started his own insurance company, the Charles Green Insurance Agency in Franklin. The agency later merged with Owens Insurance Agency, becoming Green Owens Insurance Agency. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin. Charles and Reba’s life centered around family and friends and they gave many precious memories to all. Rev. Peter Jessen will conduct a service on Friday evening, November 15th, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Friday, November 15th from 3:00 p.m. to service time at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family burial will be conducted at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
