Robert Montgomery, 85, of Owosso, passed away Monday, November 11th, 2013 at Memorial Healthcare Center. Funeral services will be at 3 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 2680 East M-21, Corunna with Pastor Doug Levesque officiating. Interment will be a Great Lakes National Cemetery on Monday, November 18 at 1 PM. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM at Mowen Funeral Home - William A. Scarlett Memorial Chapel. Mr. Montgomery will lie in state at church on Thursday from 130 PM until service.

Robert was born in Owosso on February 8, 1928, the son of the late Charles and Leona (Peltier) Montgomery. He attended Owosso Public Schools. Robert was a veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1948 to 1952. He married Joan Campbell in August of 1951; she preceded him in death on November 27, 1975. He later married Virginia Crutts. Robert worked with Jerry Buckley remodeling and building homes in the Owosso area and then went to work for General Motors - Buick City, Flint as a carpenter, retiring after 32 years of service. Bob always found the best in all things and all people. He dearly loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Those who cherish his memory include: daughter, Tammy Talbot of Owosso; step-son, Richard (Clare) Crutts; grandchildren, Julia (Doug) Hetfield, Daniel (Marie) Talbot II, Brian (Sarah) Talbot, Chad Conklin, Misty Volpe, Chase Crawford, Chris Crugher and Nick Crugher; great grandchildren, Amber Hetfield, Britney Talbot, Donna Talbot, John Talbot, Elizabeth Talbot; great great granddaughter, Kenadee Hetfield; brother, Herb (Esta) Montgomery of California; sisters, Clara Code of Corunna and Dorothy Stanley of Parma, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Joan and Virginia; daughters, Jacqueline Conklin and Deborah Crugher; son, Troy; brothers, Richard and Charles; sister, Ella Mowen; step-brother, Justin; step- sister, Gwendolyn Crooks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Immanuel Baptist Church, 2680 East M-21, Corunna, MI.
