Donald Ray Baker, 80, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming and former resident of Colorado, Mr. Baker passed away following a brief illness.
He was born in Cobb, Arkansas on January 6, 1933, the son of Benjamin Baker and Pearl Mae Dickerson.
Mr. Baker attended schools in Reliance, Wyoming.
He married LaVonne Rosene in Evanston, Wyoming on April 3, 1952.
Mr. Baker was the owner and operator of Baker Plumbing from 1976 until his retirement in 2011.
His interest included camping, working, hunting, fishing, outdoors, helping his neighborsand spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #151 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Survivors include his wife LaVonne Baker of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sons Dennis Baker and wife Teri and Dan Baker and wife Leshia , both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two brothers Frank Baker and wife Carrie of Sunsites, Arizona and DeWayne Baker of Cottonwood, Arizona; three sisters-in-laws Marlee Baker of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mary Baker of Cottonwood, Arizona and Rose Baker of Grand Junction, Colorado; four grandchildren Doug Baker and wife Christie of Akron, Colorado, Vince Baker and wife Karen of Akron, Colorado, Drew Baker of Salt Lake City, Utah and Megan Baker of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three great-grandchildren Skyler Baker, Haiden Baker and Brianna Baker and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, one niece, one nephewand father and mother-in-law Roy and Erma Rosene
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming, on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and on Monday morning until service time.
