Rubie H. Echols, age 87 passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at her sons residence surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice Savannah. Rubie was a native of Statesboro and lived most of her life in Macon. She was an active and longtime member of Women of the Moose Lodge #1455. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Bertha Hendrix; her devoted husband of 52 years, George Thomas Echols; brother, Edward Hendrix; sisters, Rosa Lea Daughtry, Irene Jones, Maize Lea Bennett, Iris Tyson.
She is survived by her sons, Everett Harvey and Wayne (Brenda) Harvey; brothers, Hiram Hendrix, Carroll Hendrix, Harville Hendrix; grandchildren, Victor (Nicole) Crosby, Joe Crosby, Tammy Harvey, Michael (Lorrie) Harvey and Nicole (Jason) Rahn; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Michaela, Mary Grace, Miley, Mikah, Shelby; numerous other relatives also survive.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Harville Hendrix officiating.
