Vincent J. Anzardi
Served in the US Navy on the USS St. Paul during World War II
Mr. Vincent J. Anzardi, 87, of 990 West Main Street, passed away on Friday November 8, 2013 at Waterbury Hospital.
Vinnie was born in Waterbury on October 17, 1926, son of the late Stefano and Anna Felicia (Gilleotti) Anzardi. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II having served on the USS St. Paul from 1944 to 1946 surviving the South Pacific. He was raised in Brooklyn section of Waterbury. He worked for Waterbury Co., Robert Shaw and Timex before his retirement in 1988. He was a former member of the American-Italian Civic Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by two sons, Steve M. Anzardi and his wife Josephine and Louis P. Anzardi all of Waterbury, a daughter, Terry Davies and her husband David of Lanark, IL, a sister, Josephine Fuoco of New York State, two grandchildren, Sarah M. Englehart and Joshua L. Angelicola both of Waterbury, and a great grandson, Ian M. Angelicola.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Cheshire House for the care and compassion given to Vinnie during his stay, the Waterbury Hospital and VITAS Innovative Hospice Care who assisted in comforting and caring for Vinnie in his final days and also to Connecticut Community Care and Western CT Area on Aging.
Arrangements: Funeral is private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Private burial with full military honors will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
