Jane Burkhart, age 78 of Athens formerly of Johnstown, Pa. died Thursday morning, Nov. 7, 2013 at Pickering House, Lancaster.
Born Nov. 24, 1934 in Nanty Glo, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Eli & Anna Grove Snedden.
She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Johnstown, Pa.
Jane is survived by three daughters- Buni (James) Tabb of Nashville, Tenn., Brenda Posea of New Marshfield and Tammy (Virgil) McLain of New Marshfield; a son- Todd (Pam) Burkhart of New Marshfield; her longtime companion and best friend, Bill Stricker of Johnstown, Pa.; six grandchildren- Cherry (Mick) Dixon, Lucas (Joleen) Primel, Chas (Jeanie) Burkhart, William “Spanky” Hempill, Angel (Joe) Fulton and Samantha Burkhart; nine great grandchildren- Peytn, Doc, Elysse, Xavier, Cassie, Lance, Destiny, Jason and Jaycee; one great, great granddaughter- Gemma Jane; two sisters- Lavon Jacobs and Sandee Henriques both of Ebensburg, Pa.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a twin sister, Jean Kuffel; two sisters- Eleanor Natcher and Delores Stiffler; and a brother, Joseph Snedden.
Cremation will take place. Friends and family are invited to a gathering at Jane’s home in New Marshfield on Saturday, Nov. 9th.
