Mark A. Butcher, age 60 of Guysville, died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens.
Born Aug. 13, 1953 in Athens, he was the son of the late Rev. Lewis E. & Elsie M. Tabler Butcher.
He was a graduate of Federal Hocking High School. He was a heavy equipment operator and had worked in residential & commercial painting. He was a member of Haga Mission Church. He also enjoyed his Cherokee heritage and culture, traveling to many Native American activities.
Mark is survived by his two sons, Travis Butcher and Anthony Butcher; three grandchildren- Jonathan Butcher, Cory Howser and Mason Uriah Allen; three sisters- Zelma Hill, Madge (Herman) Stewart and Irene (Bill) Lucas; and a brother, Rev. John (Anita) Butcher.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Sue Butcher; a sister, Alice Curtis; and three brothers- Robert, Floyd & Sam Butcher.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday 1:00pm at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Stan West officiating. Burial will be in Haga Ridge Cemetery, Rome Township. Friends may call Saturday 11:00am until time of service.
