Ruth C. McCarville, age 83 years, of Big Falls passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at her home.
The former Ruth Catherine Klein was born September 2, 1930 in Menomonee Falls, WI, to Oliver and Martha (Umhoefer) Klein. She graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1948. Ruth was united in marriage on February 18, 1950 to John E. McCarville, Jr., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Menomonee Falls. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother who cherished raising her children and taking care of her family.
Ruth was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marion, and she read her Bible regularly. Ruth's interests included crossword puzzles, watching and feeding the birds, and playing cards, especially 500 and Spades. She liked crocheting, planting flowers, bowling, family get togethers, and keeping a personal daily journal. Ruth enjoyed traveling to visit relatives, watching the "Game Show" network, and going "out" to eat at every opportunity. She will be remembered most for her fun loving and good sense of humor.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, John, and 10 children; Dennis (Linda) of Byron, IL, David (Lulu) of Palatine, IL, Michael (Sue) of Amherst, John (Pat) of Iola, Mary Kay (Keith) Willeford of Yellow Springs, OH, Jim (Mary) of Iola, Kathy (Steve) Lorenz of Belleville, NJ, Thomas (Pat) of Sussex, Judy (Vaughn) Schultz of New London, and Peggy McCarville of Big Falls. There are 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a brother, Roger (Sandy) Klein of Menomonee Falls, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Harriet Leonhardt.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 8th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marion. Fr. Patrick Lloyd will officiate and internment will be on Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Menomonee Falls. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred for Masses in Ruth's name to St. Mary's.
