John Angelo Case

John Angelo Case, 85, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mr. Case passed away following a sudden illness. He was born on July 6, 1928 in Rouse, Colorado, the son of the late John B. Case and Marie Nardin Case. Mr. Case attended school in Rock Springs, Wyoming and was a 1946 graduate of the Rock Springs High School. He married Josephine A. Levar Case on November 14, 1954 in Superior, Wyoming. Mr. Case was a United States Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War from 1950 until 1954. He was employed as a Maintenance Mechanic at Allied Chemical for thirty years and retired in 1997. Mr. Case was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community, Italian Lodge, Church Bingo, Knights of Columbus, Parish Council, PTA, and Church League Basketball. His interests included spending time with his family and sharing stories of his navy days. He was an avid sports fan especially of the New York Yankees and Boston Celtics. Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years Josephine A. Case of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sons John Angelo Case Jr. and Stephen B. Case both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two daughters Helena M. Case of Salt Lake City, Utah and Bernadette J. Weiss and husband Morris of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one sister Jenny Tucker of Rock Springs, Wyoming; five grandchildren Max A. Weiss of Washington, DC, Michael D. Weiss of Laramie, Wyoming, Jessica F. Volsey of Enid, Oklahoma, John Angelo Case III and Bradley James Case both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Case. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Saint Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A rosary will be recited by Knights of Columbus at 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the rosary and on Friday morning at the church until time of services. Condolences may be left at
