Charles I. "Charlie" Cox, of Wynnewood, was born March 16, 1932 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Charles Edward and Ethel Mae (Jones) Cox.
Charlie passed away October 28, 2013 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving from July 3, 1952 when he entered the U. S. Air Force and served his country until his discharge eight years later on July 2, 1960. During the time he was in service he and Geneva Brumbalow were married in Marietta, Oklahoma on September 1, 1956. He was a Barber and retired after 32 years in business for himself.
Surviving family includes his wife, Geneva of the home; one son, Samuel Kirk Cox and his wife, Rheanna, of North Richland Hills, Texas; four grandchildren, Hannah Cox, Hattie Cox, Zander Cox and Samuel Cox; one brother, Frank Cox of Smithfield, Texas; two sisters, Dessie Moore White of Winnsboro, Texas; and Kate Hamm of Paris, Texas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be at the Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Cottrell Mission Holiness Church officiated by Bro. Orville Cottrell, Bro. Gerald Anderson and Bro. Dallen Wright.
