Of Lansing Formerly of Grand Rapids Passed away October 27, 2013 at the age of 85. Francis was born April 29, 1928 to the late Clyde and Lola (Wright) Bliesener. After his schooling Francis joined the United States Navy and served in World War II. Francis retired from Consumers Energy after 38 years of service as a Human Resources Director. Francis was a lifetime member of the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. He spent 30 years involved with the Golden Gloves as a boxer, trainer, judge, and referee. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and hunting throughout North America. Francis is preceded in death by a brother Gary Bliesener. He is survived by his four children, Vickie (David) Yerden, Randee (Robert) Smith, Michael (Karen) Shepard, and Lee Shepard, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Lois King and Phyllis Klotz, 2 brothers, Ken (Melody) Bliesener and Carl (Joyce) Bliesener, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow Hwy, Lansing, with Rev. Fr. John Klein as celebrant. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church one hour beginning at 9:30. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 5303 S.
