Sam Sanders, 84, passed away Sat. in Louisville. He was born in Ghent the son of the late L.G. and Virgie Adams Sanders. He was also preceded by a brother, Bill Sanders, a granddaughter, Casandra June Beach and two great granddaughters Angel and Samantha. Sam worked in construction, farmed, was a member of the Ten Mile Baptist Church, Lions Club, Tadmor Lodge, VFW and the Good Guys Club. He also served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Pam Shelton Sanders whom he married on Nov. 27, 1954. Also surviving are two sons, Terry (Tracy) Sanders and Troy (Ethel) Sanders both of Glencoe a daughter, Lori (Harry) Franks of Verona, five grandchildren, Cynthia Joy Sanders, Samantha Dawn "Tootie" Hammond, Chad Vernon Franks, Forrest "Buddy" Logsdon and Adam Samuel Franks and eight great grandchildren, Logan, Brooklynn, Nathan, Chloe, Cali, Layne, Levi and Brody. Visitation is Tues. Oct. 29 from 11AM til 2PM with the funeral at 2PM at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will be in Napoleon Cemetery. Memorial may be made to Gallatin Health Care Residents Christmas. Pallbearers will be Alan Audas, Russell Perkins, Bubby Satchwell, Tony Sanders, Adam Franks and Dennis Poteet. Honorary bearers are Chad Franks, Buddy Logsdon, Cynthia Sanders, Tootie Hammond, Terry Sanders and Troy Sanders.
