Long time resident of Glen Ellyn, Clair,”Rich”, Richardson, 96, died on October 16, 2013 at the Woodland Country Manor near his family in Oxford, Ohio. He was born in Altoona, PA on January 25, 1917. He graduated from Indiana University in 1939 with a degree in Business Administration and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He also completed the ROTC program and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. He served in the Army Airborne Infantry with the 326 Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division in Western Europe during World War II and remained in the Army Reserve retiring in 1967 as Lt. Colonel. In 1950 he graduated from Chicago-Kent Law School with a L.L.B. degree and was employed as a Vice President and Trust Officer at Lake Shore National Bank in Chicago until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Kiwanis for over 50 years. In 1943 he married Martha Elizabeth “Libby” Wall and they had two children, Diane and Raymond. He was preceded in death by Martha in 2008 and Raymond in 2005. He is survived by his daughter, Diane and her husband, Alan, and by daughter-in-law, Pam Richardson, grandchildren, Darci (Brian) Gibson, Alison (Dave) Prentice, Daren Oak, Julie (Sean) Gregerson, Brandon and Shane Richardson, and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on November 2, 2013 at The First United Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn with visitation at 1:30 followed by the service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Glen Ellyn.
