Roger Mark Detamore

Roger Mark Detamore, 62, of Bismarck, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at home. Roger was born on July 25, 1951, in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Joe and Fran (Jones) Detamore. He married Sharon Edwards on April 16, 1977, at the Central Christian Church in Danville. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter- Whitney Booher of Bismarck; one brother- Dr. Timothy (Tina) Detamore of Clinton, Ohio; two sisters- Leslie (Rob) Tanner of Spring Hill, Florida and Lisa (Herbie) Arroyo of Tampa, Florida; step-sister- Kim Davis of Lynchburg, Virginia; two aunts- Mitzi McEvoy of Delmar, California and Pat Detamore of Elreno, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his two cats- Charlie and Tino. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother- Marion Detamore, and several aunts and uncles. Roger graduated from Danville High School in 1969. He worked as a journeyman machinist from 1969 until her retired in 1996. He was a member of Second Church of Christ in Danville. While Roger was unable to get out of the house the Bismarck First Church of Christ would bring him communion. Roger loved being outdoors and being out on the lake. His favorite place to go was Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri. Roger also enjoyed making and collecting knifes, eating and grilling, and riding his motorcycle. His favorite thing he enjoyed doing was spending time with his family, friends and his cats. A Memorial Service for Roger Mark Detamore will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Second Church of Christ in Danville, with Drew Mentzer and Vernon Huber officiating. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded by the Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac. Memorials may be made in Roger’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
