The funeral for Robert “Bob” Lee Hayes, age 87, of Park Hill, formerly of Enid, will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Central Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Kevin Ward officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 at the funeral home.

Bob was born to Okley and Doris (Morrison) Hays on November 2, 1925 in Carter Nine, Oklahoma, and passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 in Oklahoma City after a sudden illness.

Bob graduated from Shamrock High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II at Pearl Harbor. After his discharge, he returned to Enid and married Betty June Shelton. Bob worked for OG & E for 39 years until his retirement in 1987. He played softball with the Oklahoma Cowboys, traveling throughout the United States. Bob umpired for football and basketball in Northwest Oklahoma for over twenty years. After his retirement, they moved to Lake Tenkiller, where he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family and grandkids.

He is survived by four children, Retha Pool of Duncan, Vicki Berry and husband Lance of Edmond, Janet Wright of Edmond, and Bobby Hayes and wife Kelly of Woodward; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Joe (Nancy) Hays of Washington, Nathan Worry Hays of Enid, Okley "Guy" (Sue)Hays Jr. of Enid, Marvin (Ann) Hays of Edmond, Larry (Debbie) Hays of Hennessey, Garry Hays of Enid, Terry (LaDona) Hays of Garber; four sisters Madeline (Walt) Unruh of Texas, Madonna Campbell of Enid; Velma (Vernon) Hayes of California, and Jonna Miramontes of California; and friend Virginia English of Kremlin.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Betty, brother Thurman Hayes, sister Colleen Evans, and son-in-law Mike Pool.

Memorials may be made to OMRF – Heart Division.
