Passed away peacefully at his home, on the morning of October 17, 2013, from natural causes. Floyd was born July 1, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd A. and Erdine Allred. He is the oldest of seven children and the last living child in his family. He married JoAnne Kidd on February 28, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised their family of six children in Bluffdale, Utah. Floyd was a hard working man who loved his family. He loved being around people and had many friends. Floyd was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved to serve others and had many callings in the church. He was a mechanic for over 46 years, and farmed with his son Kevin since 1984. Next to family being his love, was fishing and being outdoors. Floyd was always looking forward to his next fishing trip and was planning one with his two missionary grandson’s, Elder Austin Allred (serving in Perth, Australia) and Elder Dallin Allred (serving in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia), both returning home soon. He was looking forward to their return. Floyd treasured the simple things and the people that brought him love and happiness. His family was his joy. He was always proud of everyone. Floyd always had a way of making people laugh and sharing his life stories. He loved animals, especially Rocky, the farm dog. Survived by his eternal sweetheart of 62 years, JoAnne Kidd Allred. Children: Elaine (Monte) Neff, Jolene (Doug) Jacobson, Robyn (Brent) Jackman, Kevin (Laura) Allred, Tammi (Ray) Atkin, Traci Russon, and with 19 special grandchildren and 23 special great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W. in Riverton. Graveside services will be on Monday at 11 am in the Bluffdale City Cemetery, 14205 So. 1700 W.
