Edward Christopher Frey Delaney

Edward C Frey Delaney, 52 years of age, passed into God’s hands peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2013 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, after a long illness.

Born in Albany, NY, he was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, SUNY Albany, and Regis University of Denver CO. Ed was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Delaney Sr. He is survived by his mother Loretta (Kennedy) Delaney. Ed was a Navy veteran (Lieutenant) who served in the Persian Gulf on the USS LaSalle, and as the supply officer of the nuclear submarine USS Archerfish. He was a resident of Sterling VA at the time of his passing. Mr. Frey Delaney was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Community, Sterling VA. He was an accountant and accomplished home maker who enjoyed cooking and was devoted to his four children.

Beloved husband of 26 years of Mary Elizabeth Frey Delaney; devoted father of Rose, Claire, Noah and Kellan. Brother of Robert (Christine) Delaney Jr. of Ballston Lake NY, Rose (Cecil) Carter of Selkirk NY and Laurie (Nelson) Kenney of Slingerlands NY. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and a grand niece and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 23, 2013 from 6-8pm at Colonial Funeral Home 201 Edwards Ferry Rd Leesburg,Va. A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Thursday, October 24, 2013 starting at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree Street, Herndon VA 20170. Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please support Grupo De Viente, providing care and education of children from the poorest regions of Peru. 2243 Cecelia Terrace, San Diego, CA 92110.
