U.S. Veteran

Jerome (Jerry) Theodore Biermann, 82, born 10-22-1930 to Wilhelm and Louise Biermann in Cincinnati, Ohio passed on to our Heavenly Father 10-12-2013from complications resulting in congestive heart failure. He grew up in Ohio and when he was able he joined the United States Navy, serving as a corpsman, not only for the Navy but also the US Marines and Army. After being honorably discharged he continued his education and graduated from Ohio State Univ. with a BA in Hospital Administration. He worked at the Univ. Of Penn Hospital as the administrator for many years. Upon retiring, he went on to help develop and manage several more clinics in the Midwest on his way to full retirement in Gloucester, Va. He returned to work as a helper and bus driver on the handicapped bus in the Achilles area. This was one of the greatest highlights in his life. He loved all the children he helped care for. He married Luella A. Giles on 04-11-1953 and raised two children, John and Barbara (Kate). He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. He has five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial will be AT 3:00 pm Monday, October 21, 2013 at Colonial Harbor (Independent Retirement Living) 2405 Fort Eustis Bld. Yorktown Andrews Funeral Home is in chage of arrangements.
