Richard William White, 78 of Denton, passed away Sunday morning, October 13, 2013 at his home. He was born June 5, 1935 in Shreveport LA to Richard Douglas White and Mildred Mixon White. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in Chemical - Petroleum Engineering and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps and was honorably discharged with the rank of First Lieutenant in August of 1966. He married Durene Inman on April 5, 1969, in Houston, TX.
During his career he was employed by Exxon as a Chemical Engineer in Baytown, TX and Baton Rouge, LA. He was owner and operator of the Denton Radio Shack Stores for 17 years.
Richard was a member of Denton Bible Church. He served in leadership in Bible Study Fellowship International and was a Bible teacher at the Keller First Korean Baptist Church. He also taught international men's Bible studies for many years.
Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery, Franklin County, TX at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21. A memorial service will be held at Denton Bible Church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, with the Rev. Tommy Nelson officiating.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Durene Inman White of Denton; sons: Stephen White, wife Keri and children, Cade, Owen, and Torri of Virginia Beach, VA; William White, wife Megan and daughter Olivia Michelle of Round Rock; daughter, Michelle White Griffis, husband Michael and children, Jesse, Ian, Liam, and Tahlia of Denton; and one brother, Dr. E.M. White and wife, Lynn, of Pineville LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas and Mildred White and a sister, Phyllis White.
