Funeral service for Mrs. Pearline Brooks, 92, of Dadeville, will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the New Concord Baptist Church. Dr. Bobby Railey and Rev. Clyde Coker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Concord Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Langley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brooks passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Franciscan Woods Assisted Living in Columbus, Georgia. She was born on February 15, 1921 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Earnest Patterson and Lula Bell Davis Patterson. She was a member of New Concord Baptist Church. Mrs. Pearline loved her family very much and enjoyed having everyone together. She was an excellent cook, with fried chicken, dumplings, fried apple pies and tea cakes being a few of her specialties. She enjoyed fishing, working crossword puzzles and going to the beach. She also enjoyed playing the fiddle and the guitar.
She is survived by her daughters, Nadene Giles (James) of Dadeville and Kay Teel (Mike) of Valley; grandchildren, Teresa Walker (Bill) of Dadeville, Tracy Mitchell (Elver) of Jackson's Gap, Tonya Phillips (Wesley) of New Site, Ken Teel of Valley and Denise Ivey (Rick) of Columbus, GA; fifteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hubert "Bill" Brooks; her parents; daughter, Rita Giles; grandson, Tony Harrelson; sister, Odessa Lunsford; brothers, Richard Patterson, Floyd Patterson and Hayward Patterson.
