Maxine Hurley Bartlett 81 years of age, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Steele Memorial Medical Center in Salmon, Idaho. Graveside services were held at 11: 00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 with Fr. Bob Perry officiating. Maxine was born on June 15, 1932 in Moab, Utah, the daughter of Catherine and Howard Hurley. The family moved from Moab, Utah to the Salmon area in 1942, where they took up residence on the Key Stone Ranch in Carmen, Idaho. Maxine attended the Upper Carmen School until the family moved to Salmon. She attended school in Salmon until 1948, and then the family moved to Anaconda, Montana. On September 25, 1949 she married the love of her life Bud Bartlett and the couple returned to Salmon, Idaho to make it their permanent home. She worked for the Herndon Hotel for many years and when the hotel closed, she went to work for King B Jerky Plant for nine years. Her and Bud shared a long life of activities together from fishing, camping and riding snow mobiles together. To Maxine, there were no strangers, from taking care of her children, grandchildren, and all of her extended family. She would welcome anyone to let her take care of them. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by husband Bud Bartlett; sisters: Dorothy “Dot” Vial of Salmon, Idaho and Pat Mitchell of Shelly, Idaho; brother Bob Hurley of Anaconda, Montana; daughter Cathy Bowen and son Steve (Jimmie) Bartlett all of Salmon, Idaho; grandchildren: Jason (Aimee) Bowen of Post Falls, Idaho, Jenifer (Dave) Larson of Salmon, Idaho, Steven Bartlett and Jeremy (Jennifer) Bartlett; great-grandchildren: Liz (Matt) Verbeck, Cassandra (Jordan Drnjevic) Bowen, Kyler Bowen, Grace Bowen, Mayson Larson, Brenden Bowen and Joseph Bartlett; great-great grandchild Bennett Drnjevic *All because two people fell in Love* She was preceded in death by parents Catherine and Howard Hurley, sisters: Donna “Tommy” Graham and Joy Rackham; brother Bud Hurley and son-in-law Terry Bowen.
