DON L. WILLOUGHBY, SR.

U.S. Veteran

Don L. Willoughby, Sr., 72, Henderson, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, at his home.

He was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Don was a retired master electrician with Peabody Coal. He was also a Vietnam War U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He loved playing music and fishing with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Reiko Willoughby, who died May 18, 2002; one son, Don L. Willoughby, Jr., who died August 29, 1988; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara “Bobbi” Leithliter and her husband, Lincoln Leithliter, and Terrie A. Collins and her husband, Don David Collins, both of Henderson, Kentucky; one son, Jason S. Willoughby and his wife, Kathy, of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Rebecca Thomas of Rumsey, Kentucky; two brothers, Edward Dale Willoughby of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Phillip Wayne Willoughby of Rumsey, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Eian and Ethan Leithliter, Bailey Collins, Jake and Josh Willoughby, and Cruz Hallmark; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Reverend A.G. Winters will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Lincoln Leithliter, Don David Collins, Tommy L. Thomas, Troy Corum, Phillip Wayne Willoughby, Jr., Brennan Willoughby, and Mike Kemp.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eian Leithliter, Ethan Leithliter, Bailey Collins, Jake Willoughby, Josh Willoughby, and Cruz Hallmark.
