Margaret O. Stewart of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday night at Franciscan St. Elizabeth in Crawfordsville. She was 95.
Mrs. Stewart was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she chaired the grief meals until this year when her health would no longer allow her to. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She was a 1936 graduate of Waveland High School and attended Central Business College.
Born December 9, 1917 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Roy McClure and Waneta Gooding McClure. She married Warner A. “Skip” Stewart on July 2, 1949. He passed away April 30, 1988.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Tonia Lee (Edwin) Hoffa of Crawfordsville, several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, great nephews and great nieces.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marge Grimes, brothers, Robert McClure and Dale McClure.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 PM at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with Pastor Kelly Nelson officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home.
