Bonnie Jean (Hendricks) Alva
God called home our beloved Bonnie Jean (Hendricks) Alva the evening of October 5, 2013, after suffering several years of declining health. She was 63 years of age.
Born April 12, 1950 in Tacoma WA, Bonnie attended Puyallup High School and graduated with the class of ’69. She had a number of jobs in her early years in the Tacoma area, which included, among others, working for Spanaway golf course in the ‘70s, and working for Marymount, while it was still under the purview of the Catholic nuns.
Her last 32 years of life were spent dedicated to her husband and life partner, Manfred (Fred) Alva, and their feline wards, Shadow, Baby and Sweetie. Bonnie enjoyed camping around western Washington, fishing, cooking, and of course, cats.
Besides her husband, Bonnie is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Hendricks; her sisters, Faye Reehl and Pat Manwell; her brother, Bob Hendricks; her brother-in-law, Dave Reehl; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Bonnie’s father, Ed Hendricks, preceded her in death in 1994.
God go with you, Bonnie. We love you, always.
