Marian Frances Dawson

Marian Frances Ream Dawson, 96, passed away at 6:19PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Heritage Pointe retirement home, Warren, Indiana.

Born October 24, 1916 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of Robert George and Florence Elizabeth (Diffenderfer) Ream. She married Russell Edwin Dawson on August 28, 1948 and he precedes her in death.

Marian graduated from Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio. She then attended Malone College in Canton, Ohio graduating with a Bachelor of Theology degree. Continuing to pursue her educational goals, she then attended Olivet Nazarene University, Kankakee, Illinois, graduating with a Bachelor Arts degree, and finally completed her schooling at Indiana University, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where she received her Master Science in Secondary Education. Now that her educational goals were achieved, she enjoyed teaching Junior High and High School English and Library Science.

She is survived by her children, Russell Dawson, Jr. and his wife Linda, Osceola, Indiana, Robert Dawson and his wife Nancy, Vernon, Connecticut, and Mary (Robert) Dockter, Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Jennifer Eaton, Russell Dawson III, David Dawson, Justin Dawson, Evan Dawson, Ashley Dawson, Ian Dawson, Crystal Dockter, Shawn Dockter, and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Dawson, Sr., brothers Rev. Thomas Ream and Robert Ream, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 in the Applegate Chapel at the Heritage Pointe retirement home located at 801 N. Huntington, Warren, Indiana 46792. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetary, 620 West 3rd Street, Rochester at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 5, 2013.
