Michael Wayne Jones

U.S. Veteran

Michael Wayne Jones, 57 of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Malvern, Arkansas, went to be with the lord on Tuesday, September 24, from his residence. Michael’s home going celebration service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern, AR. Rev. Orlando Freeman, pastor will be officiating and Dr. J. N. McCollum, pastor of First Missionary Church Rockport will be delivering the eulogy. His earthly body will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Perla Cemetery Malvern, AR.

Mike was an Army Veteran and retired from the National Guard in 1997. Mike was presently working for the Community Service Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mike was a loving person who never met a stranger, and always had a smile on his face. He was always upbeat and regardless of circumstances kept a positive attitude. He was never too good to do anything, and he loved to work and stay busy. Mike was also a usher and did janitorial work at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He loved music and played bass guitar in the “ Distance” Band for a number of years.

Mike was predeceased by one son Damien Rachard Jones.

Survivors are his wife: Sheri Henderson Jones of Malvern, AR; three sons: Michael (Vikea) Robinson of Chicago, IL, Dwayne (Jantani) Robinson of Germany, Christopher Jones of Hot Springs, AR; three daughters: Tiffany Jones of South Haven, MS, Shavon Jones of Malvern, AR and T’Keya Jones of Albuquerque, NM; his mother Ruby Edwards of Malvern, AR; sister, Cherrlyn Davis of Glenmore, LA, brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Renae) Henderson and Wayne (Charlotte) Henderson both of Malvern, AR; sister-in-law, Toni Blunt of Little Rock, AR, uncle Donald (Birdie) Williams of Houston, TX and aunt Pearlie Sanders of Alexandria, LA; close friend for over eight years Wanda Faye Lambert of Hot Springs, AR; one God brother Rev. Demond Newborn of Rockford, IL; nine grandchildren

Visitation will be Friday September 27, 2013 from 6 until 7 pm at Mt Zion Baptist Church Malvern.
