Mr. Abraham Turner, age 59 of Roanoke Rapids, NC, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
Abraham, a son of the late Robert C. Turner and Edith Squire Turner, was born January 28, 1954 in Halifax County, NC.
He received his education through Northampton and Halifax County School Systems.
At an early age, he was baptized and joined Cool Spring Baptist Church.
He was employed for quite some time with Safelite of Enfield, NC.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Delores Alston and God blessed their union with one son.
In addition to his parents, he is now rejoined with his siblings: Jurior, William, Moses, Carrie, Lillian, and Haywood.
Abraham is lovingly survived his son: Rodney Turner of Roanoke Rapids, NC; three grandchildren: Dejoyah and Trevon Turner of Raleigh, NC and Jordan Brown of Durham, NC; two sisters: Premrose T. Rook (Thomas) of Garysburg, NC and Denise Button of Norfolk, VA; two aunts: Sissy Bell Turner of Garysburg, NC and Mae Peters of Roanoke Rapids, NC; several sisters-in-law and brotehrs-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration Honoring the Life and Spirit of Abraham Turner will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 12:00 Noon from the Memorial Chapel of Cofield Mortuary, Weldon, NC. Words of Comfort will be given by Rev. Michael E. Simmons, Pastor of First Baptist Church (Hodgestown).
Mr. Turner will be laid to rest in the Cool Spring Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Gaston, NC.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 1507 Murphy Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
