Robert J. Brigham, Jr.

Robert J. Brigham, Jr., age 63, of Framingham, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Beth Isreal Hospital in Boston after battling chronic liver disease.

He was the husband of 21 years to Mary (Brown) Brigham of Framingham, and with their loving hearts they fostered many and were lucky enough to adopt three wonderful children.

Born and raised in Framingham, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Catherine A. (Kelley) Brigham. He was a graduate of Framingham South High School class of 1968 where his passion was basketball.

Mr. Brigham worked for the Town of Framingham in the Sanitation, Highway and Park & Recreation Departments. He then worked for Framingham State University and Plymouth County Club as a Grounds Keeper and most recently he worked as an In Take Counsellor at Spectrum Detox Center. He was an avid Boston sports fan and was a longtime parishioner at St. Stephen’s Church in Framingham where he was an altar boy growing up.

In addition to his wife, he was the devoted father to John R., Nicole E., and Christian R. Brigham all of Framingham. He is also survived by his siblings, Patti Brigham Chambless and her husband Glenn of Framingham, Kelley Gross of Marlboro, Jeff Brigham and his wife Michele of Framingham and Kimberly Ann Collins of Worcester and many nieces, nephews and cousins and also a friend of Bill W.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, September 28 at 9 AM from the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St, (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham, followed by his funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 251 Concord St. (Rt. 126) Framingham. Private burial will take place at a later date.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 – 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
