Michael H. Blank

Michael H. Blank, 64, of West Bend, passed away and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 21, 2013.

He was born on May 10, 1949 in Fond du Lac to the late Herbert and Marian (nee Pfeifer) Blank. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1967. On November 23, 1972 he was united in marriage to Sharon Lechner in Mayville.

Through all of his trials, Michael always had a strong faith. He studied the scriptures daily and loved the Lord with all his hearts. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was very involved in church callings and loved studying the scriptures.

Michael was very active at the Kettle Moraine YMCA and was avid about weight lifting and nutrition. He was also enjoyed writing in his journal and was a weather enthusiast. Most of all Michael love being a father. His children brought him great joy and happiness.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two children, Sarah (Jeremy) Wachs of Minneapolis, MN, and Jason (Amy) Blank of Ripon; a granddaughter, Amelia Wachs of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Marsha (Robert) Walz of Hartford, and Linda (William Olson) Zimmerman of Verona; a brother, Peter Blank of Charlotte, NC; a sister-in-law, Pat (Mike) Bonnett of Mayville; two brothers-in-law, George (Barbara) Lechner of Bloomington, IN, and Doug (Rita) Lechner of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A visitation in remembrance of Michael will be held on Wednesday, September 25 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum – Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.

Memorials to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society are appreciated.

A special thank you to Horizon Home Care and Hospice, especially Kim and Linda and others who provided care, Samaritan Health Center, Dr. Nicole Klausmeier, Dr. Jeffery Smale, and his West Bend Ward Church family.
