Bruce V. Watson August 6, 1928-September 14, 2013. Bruce, 85, ended an amazing life after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Roswell, NM to William Watson and Margaret Emanuel, Bruce spent his youth exploring the great outdoors of Yellowstone National Park where his family lived while his father served as park ranger. After serving his country in WWII, he took advantage of the GI Bill and graduated with a degree in Forestry. Bruce married Joy Blair, his wife of 58 years, on September 11, 1955. To this union were born four children, all of whom learned to love nature as much as their dad. After retiring as a Realty Specialist with BLM, he settled in Canon City where he started A-Z Rubber Stamp Company. Belonging to the Sunrise Lions Club, Bruce could be found flipping his delicious pancakes at the annual pancake breakfast. He was a great father and encourager to his grandchildren who remember him for his tasty pancakes, syrup and salsa; his love of bowling and computers. He is survived by his wife Joy, children Victoria (Jerry) Trevino, Texas; David (Brenda) Watson, NC; Cari (Keith) Carrel, MO and Wendy Eurek, MO; brother, Kent (Margaret) Watson of Missoula, MT; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents. There will be no services at his request. Arrangements entrusted to Harwood Cremation & Funeral Services.
