Ronald P. Baker, 51, of Meadow Lane, Corry, Pa., died on Sunday, September 15, 2013, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born on July 21, 1962, in Warren, Pa., a son of Ronald G. and Patricia Niebauer Baker of Edinboro, Pa. Ron moved to Edinboro as a young boy where he was raised and educated. He graduated from General McLane High School in 1980, where he played in the high school marching band. He then attended Edinboro University and graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Ron worked at General Electric in Erie for a couple of years and then worked for Hon Industries and Corry Hiebert. He began working at Associated Springs-Barnes Group in the mid 1990's. He worked in the IT Department for most of his years with the company, and for the past few months was the Shipping Manager at the plant. Ron was a member of the Corry Elks Lodge where he held several offices, including past Exalted Ruler, and also a member of the Corry Country Club where he was a past president and member of the Board of Directors. Ron was also a member of the Corry Moose Lodge and of several golf leagues at North Hills Golf Course. He was an avid golfer and fly fisherman, enjoyed bowling and taking his dogs for walks. Ron was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frederick and Gertrude Niebauer and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Genevieve Baker. In addition to his parents, Ron is survived by his wife, Janice M. Kolenda Chestnut Baker, whom he married on June 8, 2011; a sister, Christina Baker and her husband Jason Weaver of Earlysville, Va., three brothers, his twin James Baker and his wife Judy, Mark Baker and his wife Lisa, all of Edinboro, Pa., and Joseph Baker and his wife Flo of Columbus, Oh.; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ron’s life at the Corry Country Club, 554 Country Club Rd., Corry, Pa., on Thursday from 4 to 6 pm. Burial will be private by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local animal shelter or to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Pa.
