New London, NH-John “Jack” B. Beardsley, 95, of Hilltop Place, died Friday, September 6, 2013 at Woodstock Terrace in Woodstock, VT. He was born in Genoa, IL on May 7, 1918 the son of William E.L. Roy and Bess (Bidwell) Beardsley.
Jack graduated from Principia College in 1941 and from Harvard Business School in 1943. He served in the US Navy as a Lt. He worked for Sands,Taylor and Wood as Comptroller and then for IBM for over 20 years before his retirement.
Jack lived in Lexington, MA and New Canaan, CT before moving to New London, NH in 1980. During the summer months, he continued the centuries old family tradition by residing along the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist of Boston, MA,the Christian Science Society of New London, Habitat for Humanity and had served on the Board at Hilltop Place. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed woodworking.
His wife of 65 years, Audrey (Emery) Beardsley, died in 2008. Members of his family surviving include a son, David E. Beardsley of Lununburg, MA; two grandchildren, Phelan Jon and Kori Stuart; and three great grandchildren, Jourdan, Taylor and Delani.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Lexington, MA.
