Ludowici – Christopher Scott “Scotty” Guastella, 27, passed away Saturday, September 14 at the Baptist Medical Center Nassau in Fernandina Beach, FL after a sudden illness. He was born in Gainesville, FL, had lived in Dunnellon, FL until moving to Ludowici, GA a year ago. He had worked in construction as a welder. He was a graduate of Crystal River High School in Crystal River, FL, where he played and received numerous awards in football and was in the Homecoming Court. He was an avid weightlifter and won the statewide award in Florida for weightlifting in his division. He was a Florida State Seminoles fan and attended A New Beginning Church in Ludowici. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John McKenzie and Frank Guastella. Survivors are his mother and step-father, Sheryl and Ronnie Goode of Ludowici; father and step-mother, Michael and Rochelle Guastella of Dunnellon, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Lindsey and Logan Needham of Liberty, MO; maternal grandparents, Martha and Randy Barker of Metter, GA; paternal grandmother, Maryann Sine of New Port Richey, FL. Visitation will be on Friday, September 20 from 6-8 P.M. at Howard Funeral Home in Ludowici. Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 21 at 2:00 P.M.at A New Beginning Church with Rev. Tom Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the Middleton Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Huggins, Brian Huggins, Cory Winn, Austin Hendrix, Jeff Neal, and David Huggins.
