Earl Kalli, age 84, of Baxter and formerly of Maple Lake and Longville, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on September 12, 2013 at Cuyuna Medical Center in Crosby, MN.
Earl was born December 19, 1928 in Litchfield, MN to Hans & Martha (Lamminen) Kalli. He served the United States Army in the Korean Conflict as a Cpl. Earl married the love of his life, Bette Puncochar on September 11, 1954.
Following the wedding the couple took an impromptu honeymoon to Cuba. Earl and Bette love to travel and spent 16 winters in California, Arizona and Florida. He was also a very avid reader. Earl was a lifetime member of VFW post 7664, member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ, and attended Community Church of Walker.
Left to cherish his memory are; his wife of 59 years, Bette; children, Kevin, Karin (Rollin Ryan), Krista (Charles) Kelley, all of California, Kurt (Laramie) of Longville; 3 adored grandchildren, Chenin, Alexis and Nathan; sister, Edith Ailie of Dassel; many nieces and nephews.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pete; sister, Louella Dandridge.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 3pm at The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, near Little Falls.
